茶陶から雑器まで、古信楽の全貌を網羅した内容。奈良時代～江戸時代まで、時代別に構成されているのも嬉しい限り。図録だけでなく後半1/3位は歴史や窯についての詳しい解説があり、教科書的に読める。

This deluxe book covers most of existing masterpieces of old Shigaraki from tea ceremony pieces to ordinary pottery (originally they were made for ordinary purpose) from 8c to 17c.
All the pictures (221 color photos and 158 monochrome photos) are taken by Tadashi Kikuchi who is a famous dedicated photographer for only china and porcelains.
This book also contains detail explanation for history, method, kilns and so on. So we can learn many things from only this book. The explanation is written in Japanese for most of part, but the last several pages (outline history and list of works) are written in English.
